What is SMMT? |

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) exists to support and promote the interests of the UK automotive industry at home and abroad. Working closely with member companies, SMMT acts as the voice of the motor industry, promoting its position to government, stakeholders and the media. Through representation to government at home and abroad, national and international events, reliable automotive data and practical advice, SMMT plays a central role in the working life of the motor industry. Whether the industry is your business or it impacts on your organisation in any way, SMMT can deliver real business benefits to help your company meet the challenges of the future. |

Membership allows access to a wide and growing range of knowledge, products, services and expert advice. Employees of member companies are able to access discounted products, specific member services and member only areas of the website. SMMT provides the principal forum for all members to voice their views on the vital issues affecting our industry. Subject to eligibility and regardless of size or product, any company working in the UK based automotive industry can benefit from SMMT membership. Members are encouraged to be actively engaged in SMMT activity and in continuous exchange of information, opinions and ideas. This enables it to be truly representative of the automotive industry. Included in membership is access to the member services area which has a wealth of information and data available including funding and business support information, motor industry database, vehicle data reports, market intelligence reports, key industry reports and international business opportunities.
